What are aromatic plants?

This is a type of medicinal plants, which are those that produce a secondary metabolite or "active ingredients", which exert a pharmacological effect (beneficial or detrimental) on the living organism. The specificity of aromatic plants is that their active ingredients are made wholly or partly by essential oils, primarily in the leaves.

The origin of the use of scents and aromas of selected species is as old as agriculture.

They are used for its therapeutic properties, aromatic and organoleptic and can be applied to different sectors: pharmaceutical, industrial, food, ...
